CLAROSCURO: A Space for Artistic Expression
CLAROSCURO is an art gallery open to all forms of artistic expression, with a particular emphasis on photography. In a city where spaces dedicated to this medium are scarce, CLAROSCURO emerges as a platform for showcasing and gathering pieces that evoke and communicate emotions, fostering a dialogue between the audience and the artists. Here, space, light, and shadow play a crucial role in shaping the experience.
CLAROSCURO is a project by Jeannette Arévalo Angus, a visual artist born in Mexico City and raised in La Paz, Bolivia, where she earned a degree in Graphic Design and Communication, specializing in photography and drawing. A distinguished professional in the fields of graphic design and visual arts, Jeannette has built a career that blends artistic vision with technical expertise. After returning to her hometown, Mexico City, seven years ago, she has established herself as a photographer, crafting shoots based on visual and communicative concepts that reflect her deep passion for art and photography.
Now, Jeannette takes the next step in her career by leading CLAROSCURO, a cultural space that opened its doors on September 5, 2024. This new venture marks the fulfillment of both a personal and professional dream, allowing her to continue contributing to Mexico’s contemporary art scene.
Located in the Roma Norte neighborhood, the gallery features two distinct spaces—one indoors and another outdoors—where painting, sculpture, photography, installation, design, and performance coexist in each exhibition and showcase.
